Members Helping Members
Sometimes, we all need a little help. We, at Talquin, have heard concerns from our members regarding those who are unable to pay their utility bill due to crisis situations. In response to these needs the Talquin Assistance Program – TAP was created a few years ago and has raised over $30,000 to date to assist our members in need.
“TAP" is completely voluntary and provides a way for members to lend a helping hand to their fellow members who are in need. Members may donate to this program by choosing to have their account(s) rounded up to the nearest dollar on their monthly utility bill. The funds contributed will be used to assist Talquin members who cannot pay their utility bill due to job loss, illness, or other crisis circumstances. All screening is handled by Capital Area Community Action. Pennies add up each month and no one will contribute more than $11.88 per year unless one decides to make additional voluntary contributions. See how TAP is helping those in our community…..
