Rate Changes Effective November 1, 2009
The Talquin Electric Board of Trustees voted to DECREASE the Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment (WPCA) by 2 mills, effective November 1, 2009, lowering it to 15 mills. This will reduce the cost of electricity for Talquin Members by $2.00 per 1,000 kWh. Based on projected costs from Seminole Electric and SouthEastern Power Administration (SEPA), the WPCA is expected to increase after the first of the year.
Water and Sewer Facility Charges will INCREASE effective November 1, 2009. A typical residential water account will increase by $3.58 per month and a typical residential sewer account will increase by $6.68 per month. An increase is necessary in order to continue to provide clean, safe water and maintain infrastructure. The Monthly Water and Sewer Usage Rates will remain unchanged.
