Online PaymentsTalquin Electric Cooperative, Inc. is pleased to offer our members the convenience of paying their accounts through credit card, debit card or e-check. By simply following the prompts, you can pay your utility bills and receive receipt confirmation on-line or via interactive voice response through a telephone. The IVR phone number is 1-888-257-8462. Telephone and online payments will be posted to your account by 2pm the following business day. This service is provided in association with Link2Gov, a third party cashless remittance provider. Link2Gov charges a convenience fee of 2.95% per transaction that will be charged to your credit card or bank account. This fee is paid directly to Link2Gov to cover the cost of providing this service. The reason that we use a third party vendor is because a public utility in the state of Florida can not absorb the credit card transaction fee charged by credit card companies. This is considered discounting. If we pass the transaction fee on to the member, then we have violated a credit card company rule and the credit card company will no longer allow us to process payments using them and may possibly fine Talquin. We realize that paying the fee is an extra cost, but this is the only way that we could offer this payment option for our members. Talquin does offer automatic bank draft services that do not have a fee. Many members also pay through their bank electronically. Contact your bank for information about any services they offer.
