Pole Change Out – How it works

| News

We have been posting photos of the damage that some of our territory has sustained, but we want to break down what these pictures mean.  After all, a picture tells a story and is worth a thousand words.  However, we promise to keep this under a thousand words.

These two pictures were taken in Quincy of a circuit that is fed from the Wetumpka substation. When crews got to the location, there were no poles left standing. They ended up having to replace 15 poles (about 3 hours each) and this was only a stretch of road that was about half a mile long.

We cover a 2,600 square mile territory, so you can imagine what our crews are facing. Again, we appreciation everyone’s patience and understanding during this time.
