Storm Recovery Items

| News

Though we are winding down the restoration process after Hurricane Michael, the recovery process has not even started and will possibly take months to get back to normal.  The following are some of the topics that have been brought up, we want to go ahead and get some information out to all of our Members.

Clean Up – Broken Poles/Damaged Materials: As crews restored power, they left old material (broken poles, crossarms, insulators, etc.) at the base of the poles where the damage occurred. Our crews left this material to be cleaned up later in order to speed up the restoration process. Please know, this will take time due to the fact that we have approximately 40,000 pole locations that will have material that needs to be cleaned up over our 2,600 square mile territory.

Outdoor Light Repairs: We currently have a high volume of service orders for outdoor light repairs. Please be patient and know that we will get to these as quickly as possible, but it will take us some time. If you have an outdoor light that needs to be repaired, please report via our website at www.talquinelectric.com/services/report-an-outage/ or call us at 850-627-7651.

Routine Service Work: We will start back up on routine service work, but please note that same day service may not be available at this time.

Service Reconnects/Member Damage Repairs: We still have quite a few Members who need to be reconnected after they have made repairs to their services. We will continue to use mutual aid assistance to get everyone back up and running as quickly as we possibly can.

Generlink Generator Switches: Members can still purchase the Generlink from us, but there may be a delay in installation.

Outage Letters for Storm Related Losses: If you require a letter verifying your outage duration for either a federal agency or your insurance company, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 850-627-7651. We will get to these as quickly as we can.

All of these items will take time and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we all work through this together.
