Talquin is responsible for maintaining a Cross Connection Control Program as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and the Federal Government’s 1974 Safe Drinking Water Act. Talquin water service Members are responsible for having your backflow preventer tested and, if necessary, repaired. Backflow testing can reveal malfunctions or leaks. A leaking backflow preventer will add usage to monthly meter readings.
What is Backflow Testing? Backflow testing is a vital procedure aimed at safeguarding the integrity of our water supply system. It involves the inspection and assessment of backflow prevention devices. These devices ensure that water flows in one direction only, preventing any potential contamination from entering clean water supply.
Why is Backflow Testing Necessary? Regular backflow testing helps ensure that our water supply system meets the highest standards of safety and reliability. By identifying and addressing any issues with backflow prevention devices, we can mitigate the risk of contamination and uphold the quality of water delivered to your homes and businesses.
