We fully appreciate the hardships that our Members and communities are facing from the impact of Friday’s major storm event. We remain committed to working with all restoration personnel to repair damage to the system and restore power as safely and quickly as possible.
We are updating estimated times of restoration due to the significant challenges our crews are encountering which includes extensive damage to underground facilities. Probable tornadoes uprooted trees, wreaking havoc on underground and overhead structures and caused disruptions to our power distribution network. These obstacles make the restoration process extremely complex and time-consuming.
Estimated Times of Restoration:
o Woodville substation – 90% by Monday, May 13th 10:00 PM
o Chaires substation – 90% by Tuesday, May 14th10:00 PM
Over 90% of services have been restored on substations other than those listed above. Most of the remaining services are estimated for restoration by 10:00 PM Monday. Crews are working in all areas that have outages. Estimated times of restoration include locations that are able to safely receive power.
Please note that incoming weather tomorrow and Tuesday could potentially impact these estimates. Crews will continue to work as long as weather conditions allow and will resume as soon as safe to do so. We encourage everyone to take precautions and prepare for the upcoming inclement weather.
Remember to be mindful of safety around downed power lines and generators. Thank you for the kindness that many are showing to crews, staff on phones, each other, and our communities.
