Talquin crews and over 1,000 mutual aid and contractor employees have been assessing damages and restoring power today, the first day of Hurricane Helene clean-up and restoration. Organizing damage reports and coordinating crews over the system have been a big part of today while also restoring power to almost 16,000 services so far, which will continue. At the height of the storm, we had more than 35,000 or 63% of meters without power. Currently, 34% of meters are without power. Crews will continue to work diligently to safely restore service to all Members. We expect to reach 90% restoration system-wide by 10 p.m. Saturday. Estimated times of restoration (ETOR) by substation will be available mid-day Saturday.
Talquin is receiving assistance from 54 different cooperatives and contractors from as far away as Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. We sincerely appreciate their assistance.
