Temperatures are expected to drop rapidly, and we anticipate higher-than-normal energy demand across our system 6AM to 10AM on Sunday (2/1/26) and Monday (2/2/26) mornings.
You can help lower your energy bill and support grid reliability during these peak times by following a few simple tips:
- Set your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower.
- If you have a heat pump, adjust the thermostat gradually to 68 degrees to avoid triggering auxiliary heat.
- Avoid using large appliances – such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, and irrigation pumps – between 6–10 a.m.
Along with our power supplier, Seminole Electric, we are closely monitoring conditions to help ensure reliable service. Thank you for doing your part to help keep power flowing to our communities.
As always, you may track your energy usage and report outages through the myTalquin Member Portal.
