Talquin Water and Wastewater will be installing valves on Spring Creek Hwy, North and South of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Rd. The water outage is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Why is Talquin Installing Valves?
- Valves allow Talquin to control the flow of water through the system. Valves are critical for isolating sections for repairs and emergencies. It will also provide us with flexibility in managing system-wide pressure.
What to Expect During the Outage?
- You may experience little to no pressure. A Precautionary Water Notice (PBWN) will be in effect after the water is restored.
- Talquin will notify affected Members directly before Valve work begins.
- Postcards were mailed to Members in the affected areas.
- Updates will be posted directly on our website.
What to Do If Your Water is Discolored?
- If you notice discoloration, follow these steps:
- Run a cold tap (preferably an outdoor hose or bathtub faucet) for a few minutes, up to 5 minutes maximum.
- Avoid using taps with water filters, as sediment may clog them.
- Do not use hot water taps — this could pull sediment into your hot water tank.
- Catch some water in a light colored cup or container, if it is clear, you can use your water.
- If discoloration continues after five minutes, wait 30 minutes and try again.
- If the issue persists, please contact Talquin directly by calling (850) 562-2115 or for after-hours assistance call 1-888-802-1832.
