Cooperative Education
Educating Our Community
Electricity is a form of energy that is an essential part of our lives. Teaching the community about the power of electricity and how to stay safe around it is a top priority at Talquin. We would like to offer your students the opportunity to learn in interactive ways about safety and the power of electricity.
Call or email to find out more about career days, field trips, and class demonstrations led by Talquin staff.
Career Days
Talquin will provide a bucket truck for elementary school career days upon request. We kindly ask your patience in excusing us if the weather is prohibitive.
A brief overview of all of the equipment that our outdoor crews use and the skills required to keep the power flowing is included. Career possibilities with TEC and encouragement to achieve personally and academically are also key components of the program.
Talquin also provides a program for middle school and high school students outlining “Careers in the Electric Cooperative World.”
